How does it work? Your child will learn verbal assertiveness techniques that will deter bullies and other non-violent self-defense techniques to keep them from being physically assaulted. We do not teach your child how to kick or punch, as we know this does not stop the bully’s behavior. We, instead, teach them leverage-based control holds that stop the treat without bringing violence into it. If you want to give your child the confidence they need to stand up to bullies while building good character and instilling positive values, then this is the right program for you. If your child has done the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu without success, you’ll be happy to know that the Gracie Bullyproof® program is something they’ll enjoy.
The majority of martial arts program teaches how to strike back with punches and kicks, using their knees and elbows. However, the Gracie Bullyproof® program uses another approach entirely. All methods taught are for defensive purposes. They are taught how to defuse a confrontation using words, not actions. Should a bully physically come at your child, they will use techniques that will shut down the threat and wait until assistance comes to their rescue. With the Gracie Bullyproof program, your child will use water to fight fire. Your child will never become a bully but will shut down other bullies from messing with them.
Little Champs (5-7 years old) – We don’t teach Gracie Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, we play Jiu-jitsu!
The Little Champs secret is that we teach a series of 10 Games in which they secretly learn the essential self-defense techniques. By playing the fun and challenging Games, children develop strong reflexes in the execution of the basic techniques as they unconsciously learn the foundational principles of leverage and control.
Juniors Grapplers (8-12 years old) – Empower your child when they need it most.
Since bullying is most prevalent in this age group, we teach the children in the Jrs. Empowered class the techniques they must know in order to defend themselves if attacked. The best part about the techniques is that they are all nonviolent control tactics designed to minimize injury to the bully if used during a real fight.
